The law, come into force in 1955, was revised in 2002 as “Law on promotion and protection of foreign investments”. A center for foreign investments was established within the scope of the law; duly-authorized specialists and managers from institutions, such as Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Trade, Ministry of Labor and Social Security, Tax Administrations, Customs Administration, Central Bank and Environment Protection, provide services of support and guidance for foreign investors in the center.
Albeit, Iran has a blinding potential for investment in fields of energy, mining, and construction, its isolation from global markets, government control investments, and some problems in regulations and infrastructure, it also include a number of difficulties for investors.
